You might be wondering about the name...well, I made sure to look up the exact reason for the name because I had heard large winter surf or waves as being called Mavericks. But that isn’t altogether right........Mavericks is actually a location near Half Moon Bay, CA where the surf can be crazy high (60ft recorded) after a good winter storm. And of course surfers go there to ride these awesome waves.

The reason I chose it for this piece is I wanted to capture the power of those waves I have witnessed. They are awe inspiring, the power of the Ocean I grew up with....and I feel the pendant captures the curl and the crash quite well.
